September may be too early for some, but it is just the right time for me to decorate for Halloween! Check out my DIY Halloween Bat Wall decor made with the Cricut Machine below.
Being that it is the first real halloween in our home, I wanted to go all out with decorations! I have been inspired by so many ideas from Harry Potter, The Nightmare Before Christmas and from all over Pinterest and wanted to share them back with you.
I made a lot of the decorations I used this year with the Cricut Explore Air 2. The Cricut has its own program called Cricut Design Space that is full of free and for purchase projects and crafting ideas! I created my Oogie Boogie Man Window display with the Cricut, you can find that free project HERE.
Get the Project:
This Bat Wall was created with a Cricut Design Space Project called Halloween Window Bats. It comes with a variety of different sized bats that are perfect for any wall or window.
Search “Halloween Window Bats” under Cricut Design Space Halloween Projects to find this project.
Choose your Material and Set your Dial:
This project was originally made to be used with removable vinyl or window cling but can easily be made with any paper or card stock material. I used a basic black cardstock for my wall bats and cut out the project approximately 5 times to make enough bats to cover the area I wanted paper bats on.
Don’t forget to set the dial on your Cricut to the correct material you are using and begin cutting!
Hang your Bats:
I prepared each bat by slightly bending the paper where the wings meet the body to give them a “flying” effect. I just wish I had a fireplace for them to look like they are flying out of!
Tape your bats to the wall by putting a small piece of take on the back of the body and staggering them. I wrapped mine around the corner of the wall to bring the decor around to my small foyer. This DIY Halloween Bat Wall is easy and affordable to create, adding the perfect touch to your home decor.
